The diversity of our political institution is well represented in the politicians who work towards a better country. These politicians have become so varied in background, ethnicity, and personality that slowly, our government is beginning to express the cultural and socioeconomic diversity of its people.
This entails good news for gender equality as well; and given female representatives across all three branches have been scarce in decades past, more women than ever are taking up the mantel as advocates for us.
We've entered the age where politicians can be open about their sexuality and gender identity without it having to be a point of contention for constituents. By living their lives openly and expressing themselves authentically, we the people, get to better know the politicians who want to speak for us. We gain a better sense of their qualities and identity, which helps us understand who they are at their core and what they're willing to fight for.
